NAME: Emma Lee ’13

SPORT: Cross country

HOMETOWN: St. Paul, Minn.

HIGH SCHOOL: Como Park High School

MAJOR: Biology

WHY I CHOSE ST. OLAF:  It was the only school I was interested in that had a Nordic ski team.

CROSS COUNTRY HISTORY: Four-time all-MIAC, two-time all-American

PRE-RACE RITUAL: Drills and strides in a certain order

FAVORITE PUMP-UP SONG: “Yes” by LMFAO

FAVORITE SPORTS MOVIE: “Remember the Titans”

FAVORITE TV SHOW: “Parks and Recreation”

FAVORITE BOOK: “Freedom” by Jonathan Franzen

FAVORITE RESTAURANT: Black Sea

FAVORITE PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE: Jessie Diggins

THREE FAMOUS PERSONALITIES I’D HAVE OVER FOR DINNER: Shalane Flanagan, Jon Stewart, J.K. Rowling

FAVORITE SPORT OTHER THAN CROSS COUNTRY: Nordic skiing

RANDOM FACT: I can finish Thursday New York Times crosswords.

BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE SPORTS: We put in a lot of volume and intensity here. In college, everyone is more dedicated to his or her sports.

FAVORITE MOMENT AS AN OLE ATHLETE: Finishing 10th at the national cross country meet my sophomore year.

BEST ADVICE I’VE RECEIVED: Drink milk and believe in yourself.

GOALS FOR NATIONAL MEET: I think our team can place in the top 10. I’m shooting to be a top-10 individual.

PLANS AFTER OLAF: Graduate school for exercise physiology or kinesiology.
