Ole track performs strongly

The St. Olaf men’s track and field team competed in the Meet of Saints on May 3. Several strong performances resulted in the Oles finishing in second place with 224 points, slightly edged out by Saint John’s University with 251. St Thomas University and Carleton College finished in third and fourth places respectively.
Notable victories included that of the 4×100 meter relay team, who finished the event in 42.08 seconds. Jake Campbell ’16 claimed the 1500 meter run in a time of 3:50.60, almost 10 seconds clear of his nearest rival. Aaron Dunphy ’15 was victorious in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.70 seconds. Aaron Shinn ’15 starred in the pole vault event, reaching a height of 4.33 meters to claim victory.
The event gave the Oles a good final test before they competed in the MIAC Outdoor Championships on May 9-10.
