A recent intrasquad scrimmage at Carleton College – what bystanders believed to be an attempt at softball – concluded with two losses for the Knights. The coach protested the result to the MIAC, arguing that there was no way one team could lose twice in a single game, only to hear laughs at the other end of the line.
"I don't know how it happened really," Joe Schmo said. "You schedule these scrimmages so at least half the team knows what it feels like to win. But then, all of a sudden the game is over, you look up at the scoreboard and nobody is shaking hands. It's frustrating."
The Knights stopped tracking consecutive losses in 1995, leading many Knight apologists to question what all the fuss is about, but estimates have the total now at 930.
