Make sure to be careful about what’s on your mind if you stop by the Pause this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. because you won’t be the only one who knows.
This Saturday, Nov. 12, St. Olaf has the pleasure of welcoming world renowned mind reader Eric Dittelman to campus. You may be asking yourself, just who is Eric Dittelman and what does he do? Dittelman is a world class mind reader who combines his mind reading skills with stand up and improvisational comedy.
He has also appeared as a guest on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and was featured in Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, NBC and The National Enquirer. He was the number one clip on Hulu’s streaming site and mentioned in The Huffington Post. Additionally, he was a semi-finalist and judges’ favorite on season seven of “America’s Got Talent” where Judge Howard Stern called Dittelman “an exceptional talent.”
If you watch Dittelman read the minds of stars such as Ellen Degeneres and Sharon Osbourne you’ll see psychological magic at work. One thing Dittelman does is ask someone a question, and then have them think of an answer without ever saying it out loud. Dittelman eventually deciphers their answers letter by letter, writing them down on a sheet of paper before the person reveals their answer.
A second part of Dittelman’s act involves audience participation in the form of drawing. Dittelman tells participants to draw something, and before they do he tapes his eyes shut and puts a blindfold on. He then must correctly guess what they have drawn. It’s absolutely stunning to see Dittelman correctly read people’s minds again and again.
These two examples are but a few of all the amazing things Dittelman has done, and I encourage anyone to go watch some of his other acts (especially those on “America’s Got Talent.”) If you’re thinking this is too good to be true and that it must be all smoke and mirrors, I encourage you skeptics to check out his show. You will see for yourselves that Dittelman’s powers are otherworldly.
Regardless of what your plans are for this Saturday night, I suggest you check out Dittelman’s show. He is truly a once in a lifetime talent. Grab some friends or fly solo, grab some grub at the Pause kitchen, sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
Who knows, maybe you’ll just be lucky enough to experience his mind reading abilities first hand.
