Oxygen

i get my energy from the sun
i get everything else from you

smooth, mature,
organic connection
between roots
grown in the soil of our minds

You sway stoically as your branches
brush against the land
that can’t break you
leaving spaces you controlled
to go elsewhere when you wake up

you mold to the artifice
as if it were friendly to you

Solid. sway. searching some satisfaction
Firm. flexible. finding false fulfillment

All is naked when our foreheads touch
and we close our eyes
sharing an undefined connection
leaving no particle unnoticed
and words unspoken
